blue da ba de da ba die
I have been a lover of all things non-traditional since I was a wee Chan. My first cosplay was in elementary school — I dressed up as Sailor Moon for Halloween. A cousin introduced me to the wonderful world of manga, and thus Japanese culture. Ever since then I have been enthralled in Japan, anime, manga, comics, and many other interests that correlate with it.
One of my favorite creative outlets has been writing for as long as I can remember. I like to draw, too, but am not really too talented and get embarrassed easily over it; writing I can hide in a corner and just scribble away about whatever I desire. Eventually I found costume design and my world, to quote The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, “turned upside down.” I loved it. I could see everything from a completely different perspective, be someone else, and just fall in love over and over again with the things I learn, the things I create, and the wonderful feeling of walking around in your art. Literally.
Unfortunately, I am not able to make money doing what I love yet, so right now I have a pretty typical office job and go to school. I finished my Associates in Arts – Communications in June 2011 and plan on re-attending UNLV in Fall 2012 to work on my Bachelors in Communications with an emphasis on Marketing. I plan on getting at least a Masters!
Other things I like to do aside from traveling, dressing up, and being a goof include exercising, cooking, playing with my dogs, hiking, World of Warcraft (playing again! Horde – Dethecus since ~2005), D&D, concerts, clubs, and Adult Swim. <- That right there is why I can’t ever go to bed at a decent time.
Thanks for reading and I hope to see you at an event!
